Ingredients
- 4.5litres- milk
- 400g- flour
- 3- onions (studded with cloves)
- 400g- butter
Directions
1. Melt the butter.
Melt the butter in a thick bottomed pan.
2. Add in the flour.
Add the flour and stir using a wooden spoon.
3. Make a white roux.
Stir constantly to make a white roux, then allow it to cool for a few minutes.
4. Add the milk and the studded onion in the roux.
Re-heat the pan on the stove and gradually add in the milk and studded onion into the roux.
5. Simmer
Let the mixture simmer for 30 minutes, ensuring the sauce doesn't burn.
6. Strain.
Take out the onion and strain the sauce through a conical strainer.
